The Damaged

Recently, I’ve been thinking about my current job. I’ve been on the exact same position for more than three years and even though I work hard and I obviously contribute to the company, no one has recognised this and no one has made even the slightest effort to give me something back as an appreciation of my hard work. In fact my base salary haven’t changed one bit for these three years. But everything is more expensive nowadays. I have to pay more tax, food, rent, gas and what not is getting more and more expensive every day. I know that there are lots of unemployed people out there who will kill for my position, but I definitely know that I can do better.

I have higher education, I am still young enough to be able to adapt quickly and my energy is always high. And even though I am one of the most enthusiastic employees, no one seems to care. And this really kills me guys, I am telling you. Only the top managers are allowed to attend team-buildings, and workers as myself just feel left out. Don’t we all deserve to become stronger team players, don’t we deserve to learn new skills, I guess not. The big corporation just wants to exploit us and till we all keep our mouths shut this will never change. Do you know that we have no insurance what so ever, no accidents at work compensation ; we don’t even have a decent health care plan. The only free thing we get at this company is coffee and tea from the office coffee machine and that is it. We don’t get bonuses, all top managers do. We are not compensated for nothing; we even don’t get a Christmas bonus. I really don’t know what I am still doing at this company. Maybe I am used to the way thing are right now and maybe I am a little bit scared of change.
